The term "Antiqued" is that which describes the process applied to the boxwood pieces resulting in the appearance of a fine aged old set preferred by many collectors and serious chess players alike. There is something about the patina of an aged old chess set with that honey dew colouring that is most appealing to the eye. The dark pieces are ebonised.
