Giving a timeless design a newer updated look for the 21st century, our Design Studio offers this modern variation of a 600 year old Russian design.

The king retains his pre-eminence as the largest piece followed by the queen. The bishop becomes the stylized banner-bearer of the earliest designs while the knight remains in the Slavic tradition of representations. The rook (castle) is adapted and shortened in stature to stylistically fit our current concepts of castles while the pawns continue as before, all with accents of (Buffalo Horn) in Marlboro Red and Lemon Yellow to differentiate opponents.

This update of an Russian non-figural chess set is in a class by itself, sized to everyday player's demands. Just using it one time and you may also be hooked, as we were, with a new, favorite set of pieces.
