Birdseye Maple/Wenge/Honduran Rosewood
Light squares: Birdseye Maple - a North American hardwood highly prizes for it figure which comes in the form of "eyes" that are around 3 to 4 mm across. The eyes permeate the entire tree and are not a defect of any kind. They go from the center of the tree out to the bark like a rod.
Dark Squares and Accents: Wenge - a high density hardwood from Africa. This wood is mostly black with some intertwining brown grain.
Border: Honduran Rosewood - reddish brown to tan in color. This high density hardwood from South America is one of many species of Rosewood.
