Birdseye Maple/Purpleheart/Birdseye Maple
Light squares and Border: Birdseye Maple - a North American hardwood highly prizes for it figure which comes in the form of "eyes" that are around 3 to 4 mm across. The eyes permeate the entire tree and are not a defect of any kind. They go from the center of the tree out to the bark like a rod.
Dark Squares: Purpleheart - a dense hardwood from Central and South America. This wood is brown when first cut, but changes to a deep purple color when left to sit.
Accents: Wenge - a high density hardwood from Africa. This wood is mostly black with some intertwining brown grain
